Who are we ? Why should we be trusted with your child's welfare?
So many questions need to be answered!

My name is Sophie Hannan and I am behind Peek-A-Boo Daycare. I am not only the owner, but also the operator, the director, the educator, the nurse and the cleaning lady! As you can see, I am a constant presence at the day care and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I moved in the Miramichi area almost 3 years ago. I am originally from Montreal, Quebec. I have been married for 10 years to a wonderful man who shares my passion for children. We started small with our own private day care in Montreal and decided to follow our dreams and open a new day care center in Miramichi. We know what it means to be a parent. We are blessed to have 3 healthy and beautiful children. We've been through what you are experiencing right now: finding the right day care for our child. It's a very difficult decision with many questions and fears. We want you to know that we are here to help you.

What about ratio?

Peek-A-Boo Day care is a bilingual center with very small groups. We are licensed for 26 children but our days range from 15 to 18 children. No matter how many children we have, there's always at least 4 educators. There's always a need for a bigger daycare but I wouldn't change a thing! With smaller groups, we get to spend more time with the children and even the parents. We really get to know your family, what you want and what makes you happy.

What about groups?
Here are our following groups :

* 1 group of 3 children aged between 15 and 24 months.
* 1 group of 5 children aged 2.
* 1 group of 5 children aged 3.
* 1 group of 5 to 8 children aged 4 & 5.

What about the staff?
We have a very loving and patient staff. Actually, I am very proud of our group. We have Gabrielle who in 2008 will be studying to get her Early Childhood Educator Certificate, Tanya who is an ECE graduate, Megan who is a TA graduate and Pamela who's been working with autistic children. As you can see, we have different people with different experience and knowledge. Together, we know how to understand your child and make sure he or she receives the best tools to grow into an amazing little human being! Another important fact is our drive to do better. My staff and I continue to learn by attending seminars and conferences about childcare in New-Brunswick. Childcare is in constant movement and is not what it used to be 10 years ago and will not be the same either in another 10 years. We have to make sure we understand what is happening so your child gets all the benefits of a quality daycare.
